Scale Connection

Use Manage Devices to connect Coilinx to a scale for live weight readings.

What this is for

A connected scale sends weight into Coilinx during Receive Stock, Return (Weigh In), and other weighing flows — so operators do not have to type weights manually.

Before you start

• Turn on your Coilinx scale and keep the phone nearby.
• On first use, allow Bluetooth and location/nearby device permissions when the phone asks.
• If your scale uses a Wi-Fi controller (such as a Raspberry Pi), you may need to complete Wi-Fi Setup from Manage Devices.

Steps

1. Tap Settings → Manage Devices.
2. Allow Bluetooth and location permissions if prompted.
3. Turn on the scale and wait for Coilinx Scale to appear in the device list.
4. Tap the device to connect.
5. If the scale does not appear, power-cycle the scale, wait 60 seconds, and open Manage Devices again.
6. For Wi-Fi-enabled controllers, follow Wi-Fi Setup on the device screen to join your network.
7. Use Reconnect or Disconnect on the device details screen when you need to change the connection.
8. After connecting, use Receive Stock or Return (Weigh In) — the scale reading should fill in automatically when connected.

Tips

• Only one phone should be connected to the scale at a time.
• Keep the phone within Bluetooth range during weighing.
• If weight stops updating, open Manage Devices and tap Reconnect before re-weighing.

Common issues

The scale does not appear in the list

Make sure the scale is on, close to the phone, and not connected to another device. Power-cycle the scale, wait 60 seconds, and scan again. If the scale uses a Raspberry Pi controller, reboot the Pi and confirm Bluetooth is enabled.

Android asks for permissions

Allow Bluetooth and nearby device permissions so the app can discover the scale.

The app says the scale disconnected

Unplug the scale, plug it back in, wait 60 seconds, and connect again. Make sure no one else is connected. Reboot the Pi controller if applicable. Contact Coilinx support if it still will not stay connected.

I connected the wrong device

Disconnect it in Manage Devices and choose the correct Coilinx Scale entry.

Wi-Fi Setup fails

Stay near the scale during setup, confirm your network password, and retry Wi-Fi Setup from the device screen.
