Check Out and Return

Use Check Out to take items from inventory and Return (Weigh In) to record what is left when they come back.

What this is for

Checkout tracks which items are with which operator. Return (Weigh In) updates remaining weight and length so Inventory and Reports stay accurate after material is used.

Before you start

• Items must exist in inventory (received via Receive Stock).
• For live weight on return, connect a scale (Settings → Manage Devices).

Check out an item

1. Tap Check Out on the bottom tab, or Check Out Item on Home.
2. Find the item by searching, browsing warehouses, or scanning QR/NFC.
3. Confirm the item details (material type, warehouse, remaining amount).
4. Complete checkout — the item is assigned to you and marked checked out.
5. View your checked-out items from the Check Out screen or Home.

Return (Weigh In)

1. From Check Out, open Return (Weigh In) or select a checked-out item to return.
2. Place the item on the scale if connected, or enter the return weight manually.
3. Enter or confirm remaining length if your workflow tracks length.
4. Review the updated remaining values.
5. Save. The item returns to active inventory with updated weight and length.

Tips

• Weigh returns on the same scale you use for receiving when possible — consistency improves accuracy.
• If Coilinx suggests a length from weight, review it before saving and correct if it does not match the physical spool.
• Checked-out items may appear on Home and in Inventory Health (admins) until returned.

Common issues

I cannot find the item to check out

Confirm it was received and is still active. Search Inventory or scan the item label.

The item is already checked out

It may be checked out to you or someone else. Return it first or ask your admin who has it checked out.

Scale weight does not appear on return

Reconnect in Settings → Manage Devices. See the Scale Connection guide.

Remaining length looks wrong after return

Verify weight was stable on the scale before saving. Check material type density settings if length is calculated from weight.

I checked out the wrong item

Contact your admin. Return the item through Return (Weigh In) to restore inventory state.
